Who can take part in the BWT Sgambeda?
All athletes aged 16 or older are eligible to participate in the race.
ITALIAN athletes must hold a valid F.I.S.I. membership card for the 2025/2026 winter season, or be at least 18 years old and possess a valid medical certificate for competitive sports, specifically for cross-country skiing, valid on the day of the race.
FOREIGN athletes may participate without any documentation (no membership card or medical certificate required).
I’m an Italian athlete. Do I need a FISI card and/or a medical certificate to participate?
ITALIAN athletes must hold a valid F.I.S.I. membership card for the 2025/2026 winter season, or a valid medical certificate for competitive sports specifically for the cross-country skiing discipline, valid on the day of the race.
I’m a foreign athlete. What documentation do I need to participate in the race?
FOREIGN athletes are not required to present any membership card or medical certificate.
They will simply need to sign a declaration form (available at the Race Office when collecting the bib) stating that they are in good health, fit to complete a 30 km race, and that they release the Organizing Committee from any liability for incidents that may occur during the event.
Where can I collect my race bib?
It is possible to collect your race bib at the Race Office located at Aquagranda (Via Rasia 999):
- Saturday, December 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, December 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
What is included in the race package’s technical envelope?
Inside the technical envelope you will find:
– Race bib with a disposable timing chip (it does not need to be returned after the race);
– Meal voucher to be used in restaurants in Livigno
– Adhesive ticket to be attached to your clothing bag (for optional bag drop in the start area).
Where are the start and finish of the race located?
The start and finish areas of the race are located at the Cross-Country Stadium, Via Isola 113.
When can I access the starting grids and how are they divided?
Access to the starting grid corresponding to your bib number is allowed from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, December 14.
The starting group was selected by each athlete during registration, choosing from the following options:
- Group 1 – Elite athletes
- Group 2 – Advanced athletes
- Group 3 – Amateur athletes
Where can I leave my clothes during the race?
Personal belongings must be placed inside the colored bag (provided with the race package), to which you must attach the adhesive ticket found in the technical envelope.
The bag can then be left in the changing area (a heated tent structure set up near the start).
This service is free of charge, unattended, and heated.
Where can I find the race results?
Unofficial rankings will be available in real time on the website www.lasgambeda.it/classifiche
Please note: the official rankings will be published within 3 days after the race.
Where are the refreshment stations located?
Along the course, four refreshment stations will be set up at the following points:
- Pont Lonch: Km 8
- Forcola: Km 13
- Pont Lonch: Km 18
- Finish – Cross-Country Stadium: Km 30
Are shower facilities available after the race?
Free shower facilities will be available after the race at Aquagranda, Via Rasia 999.
Where do the award ceremonies take place, and which athletes are awarded?
The top 10 overall men and top 10 overall women will receive prizes and cash awards (gross amounts) as follows:
- 1st place M/F: €1,000.00
- 2nd place M/F: €600.00
- 3rd place M/F: €400.00
The flower ceremony will take place at the finish line after the arrival of the 3rd male athlete and the 3rd female athlete.
In addition, non-cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 men and top 3 women in the following categories (not cumulative with overall awards):
- Seniores M/F (born in 1996 and later)
- Master F1/M1 (born 1995–1981)
- Master F2/M2 (born 1980–1971)
- Master F3/M3 (born 1970–1961)
- Master F4 (born 1960 and earlier)
- Master M4 (born 1960–1956)
- Master M5 (born 1955 and earlier)
All prizes will be awarded at the finish line immediately after the race.
Where can I find my photos taken during the race?
The official photo service will be provided by ENDUpix.
Thanks to facial recognition technology, ENDUpix automates and speeds up the photo-matching process.
Photos will be immediately available on the ENDU website and app, either for purchase or free of charge, depending on availability.
Is it possible to get around using shuttle buses?
There are no dedicated shuttle buses, but you can use the free urban bus service.

Can I take part in the race using the classic technique?
Yes, both classic and skating techniques are allowed.
Is it allowed to use fluorinated waxes?
The FIS—and therefore the FISI—have officially confirmed the ban on the use of fluorinated products.
