RULES SGAMBEDA
La Sgambeda, is a promotional ski race (free technique) that will be held in Livigno on Sunday 17th December 2023 over a distance of 30 km.
GENERAL RULES OF PARTICIPATION
The participants who can take part in the race are athletes of both genders who have completed 18 years of age and in possession of the F.I.S.I. card valid for the winter season 2023/24 as the regulations in force, or in possession of a medical examination of fitness for competitive athletics with high cardiovascular commitment issued by a Sports Medicine Center (category B) valid on the day of the race.

SENIORES (2000 and previous)

REGISTRATIONS
The entry fee is fixes as follows:

After this date, it will be possible to register in the Race Office at Plaza Placheda (Saturday 16th December from 09.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m. or Sunday 17th December from 08.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.).
STARTING GROUPS
Each participants can choose his/her start group during the registration:
Group 1 – High level athletes
Group 2 – Good level athletes
Group 3 – Amateurs
The Organizing Commette reserves the right to close the entry to a certain start group, once reached the maximum number.
RACE SERVICES
Expo area, ski-test, technical assistance, medical assistance, professional timing service, refreshments on the track and at the finish line, shuttle bus, changing rooms, pasta party, showers and, award ceremonies.
PRECISION TIMING: will be held by EVODATA Srl (Official Timer MySDAM) with technology based on the use of “chip”.
Please Note: the failure or improper use of the chip will entail exclusion from the score rankings and the non-attribution of the time taken.
The gadget for participants in the race will be delivered to the first 1000 participants with the race package c/o the Race Office.

Bibs will be distributed at the Race Office c/o Plaza Placheda, via Saroch 1099/a (subject to the submission of the F.I.S.I. card for the winter season 2023/24 or of the valid medical examination of fitness for competitive athletics with high cardiovascular commitment issued by a Sports Medicine Center (category B) valid on the day of the race) according to the following time: - Saturday 16th December 2023: 09:00 a.m.-19.00 p.m.; - Sunday 17th December 2023: 08:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. |
THE RACE
The start is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Start time could be subject to change.
Marking of the bib number is mandatory and is done from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at entrance of the starting group corresponding to the athlete’s bib.
Maximum time: 4 hours.
For safety reasons the Organizing Committee might stop the race.
Each participant acknowledges to all effects that La Sgambeda requires considerable physical and technical effort. By registering, the athlete implicitly declares under his/her own responsibility to be in possession of these requirements.
Along the track, there is no right of free track for those wishing to surpass another competing athlete. Athletes are allowed to replace only one ski and it is absolutely forbidden to take off your skis during the race.
PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY
The absolute first 3 men and the absolute first 3 women will be awarded cash prizes as following:
- 1° PLACE F/M: 1000,00 Euros;
- 2° PLACE F/M: 600,00 Euros;
- 3° PLACE F/M: 400,00 Euros.

COMPLAINTS
Complaints can be submitted to the jury within one hour of the arrival of the first athlete, accompanied by the fee of € 50.00, which will be returned in case of acceptance of the complaint itself.
RACE CANCELLATION
In case of cancellation the registered athlete shall be entitled to a refund of 100% of the registration fee
No refund will apply in case of race cancellation less than 24 hours before the start, due to force majeure.
LIABILITIES
By registering and paying the entry fee participants accept without reservation the current conditions and confirm that they have a medical certificate in accordance with the statutory instrument of 18.02.82. They relieve the organising committee of any responsibility for accidents before or after the race, or for any damage participants inflict on third parties or the property of third parties. By registering for this event participants agree that their personal data can be passed on to third parties for purposes of processing in accordance with Italy’s Data Protection Act (valid from 25/05/2018).
GENERAL INFORMATION
Simultaneously with the registration, athletes authorize the processing of their personal data for issues relating the event or future information purposes, pursuant to art. 10 of Law 675/96. Each participant authorizes the organization to use the images for the promotion of the event on all domestic and international media and to send promotional material about the race and pictures related to the event itself.
By registering for the event, athletes hereby fully accept these rules; for matters not covered in the regulation, the rules of the F.I.S. and F.I.S.I. shall apply.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify this regulation at any time.
